  I purchased my domain name christyparrott.com through wordpress- I want my transfer this to another domain provider- do I have to purchase a “mapping upgrade” to do this? Thanks

  You can transfer your domain to a different registrar by following this guide:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar

  Alternatively, you could keep your domain registered here and point it to a different hosting provider:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers
