Domain mapping

  WordPress is telling me that my domain is expiring tomorrow (5/13/2016). There does not appear to be any manner to renew this domain. When I click on the payment settings (in the domain mgt screen) it takes me back to upgrade my plan. I do not wish to upgrade my plan, rather I simply want to keep the primary domain that I have been using. Please advise. Thank you

  Hi @gpowell2014 – To successfully renew your domain you will need to be logged into the account that originally registered the domain. Once you are logged in correctly you will find the option to renew here: http://wordpress.com/purchases/

  Thank you. The original account belongs to someone who is no longer with the organization. Is there any other way that you know of to renew? Many thanks for you taking the time to assist!

  Do you have any way to contact the original owner? The best way to proceed will be for them to transfer ownership of the domain over to you or someone else in your group. Here’s how you transfer ownership: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

  If you are able to contact them, share the link above that walks you through transferring ownership to another WordPress.com user. Once the domain transfer is successful, you will be able to renew the domain from your user account at http://wordpress.com/purchases/

  Was this for reforestthetropics.org? If so, the domain is under your account, and as you most likely know, has been renewed.
