  why do i have to pay for domain mapping?
  Also it says domain migration is not possible

  Hi there,

  Like most hosting providers, we charge a fee for letting you use your own domain for a site you have hosted with us. So using your own domain requires one of our paid plans:

  https://wordpress.com/en/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  What is the domain you want to use? We do support domain transfers as well, but we can only accept transfers for domains that we’re an accredited registrar for:

  https://wordpress.com/en/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

  Note that transferring a domain to us will also require that you upgrade to a paid plan.
