domain mapping
-
In 2016 I moved my domain name from wordpress to Ipage. Today I went to publish my new Ipage website and I get this message from wordpress: Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. I page says I need to connect with wordpress so that my domain name points to Ipage and not wordpress. I thought I had this all taken care of. Any advice??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
When I visit your domain, tinapeterson.org, I see the same message. The reason this is appearing is because you have transferred the domain away from WordPress.com, but the nameservers are still pointing to us.
Did you transfer the domain to iPage? If so, do you have access to it?
The next step is for you to update the nameservers, or contact the new registrar and ask them to do it for you.
Once they’ve been updated, you shouldn’t see that message again.
If you have any questions, just come back to me :)

Thank you for your response!! Yes, I did transfer the domain to iPage and yes I have access to it. I did chat with ipage about this before I contacted WordPress. They made me think I had to connect with WordPress to get this fixed.
I’m pretty “green” at this, so if I understand you correctly, I can update the nameserver or ask iPage to do it for me. How do I update the nameserver myself?Thank you
Tina

Hi Tina,
You’re welcome!
They made me think I had to connect with WordPress to get this fixed.
If the domain was still registered with WordPress.com, but you wanted to point it to your new iPage site, the nameservers could be updated here on WordPress.com.
However, because the domain has been transferred away from WordPress.com to iPage, the nameservers will now need to be updated with them instead.
I can update the nameserver or ask iPage to do it for me. How do I update the nameserver myself?
Correct! iPage have a support document which shows you how to update the nameservers:
http://www.ipage.com/knowledgebase/beta/article.bml?ArticleID=166
If anything is unclear, iPage should be able to help you out.
Hope that helps!

Thankyou, I’m connecting with iPage now and hopefully get this resolved. Blessings to you! Tina
