Domain mapping
-
I am trying to domain map the .com domain I have at register.com to my wordpress.com blog. Following all the instructions so far I see at from WordPress domain mapping instructions to change a register.com domain to wordpress I am supposed to change the name of the existing DNS server to a New DNS server in my register.com account – only problem is I don’t know what to put in the New DNS Server box. Yes – this stuff is Greek to me and I am new at this. Thanks for any gentle and thorough instructions!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Try this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Remember it can take 24 to 72 hours for the changes to reach the far corners of the internet

Thank you for your reply. I did follow all the links and instructions there – but when I get to my register.com account it asks me to put in the New DNS server and I do not know what to put in the box. In this case mine says:
dns051.d.register.com changes to
And there is a box for me to fill in the new DNS – but no idea what to put. Do I simply put in my wordpress.com blog address? (therefinedpen.wordpress.com)
There are 4 boxes with exosting dns servers to change to new ones. -
Change the name servers to WordPress.COM NOT your blog address. The domain mapping part of the process is done here and it matches your domain name to your blog – but the domain name matching is done at your blog not where you have the domain name registered –
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM -
THANK YOU – that is exactly what I was looking for and could not seem to specifically find.

Hi I tried changing the name serves to
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMbut it won’t fit the whole thing in the entry box for the name servers,
so it’s:
NS1.WORDPRESS.Cand it says that its not a real server.
Any thoughts on this?
