domain mapping

I have removed domain mapping from my personal wordpress account and want to have it mapped to another wordpress account that I manage. Although I removed it from the personal I am getting a message that the domain was in use and is not available to be mapped yet. How long is the down time for this?

Hi there,
Some people will add a domain mapping for a domain the moment it expires, in order to prevent the actual owner of the domain from adding a new mapping upgrade. To prevent this we have a waiting period before a different account is allowed to map a recently expired/cancelled domain.
Can you please tell me what is the domain? Are you trying to map it to a site in this account? If so, please go ahead and add a plan to your site without a domain, and then reply here as the other username who first had the domain mapped to confirm, and I can add the mapping for you without having to wait for the waiting period to end.

I would like to map two domains to the site ssgli.wordpress.com
the first one is ssgli.com (this is the first and so far only one I have tried to map and where I encountered the problem/delay)
the second is lispinning.com (I have not yet removed it from domain mapping to the first wordpress account since I wanted to see how things went and did not want to be without the website for a indeterminate length of time)
per your instructions I tried to add and pay for domain mapping on the ssgli.wordpress.com but it won’t let me do it without adding the domain.

Hi again kokkieh — thank you for trying to help me, after mulling it over I have found another work around to my problem. (I think! fingers crossed!)

I said you need to add a Plan, under My Site ->Plans. You won’t be able to add the domain via the @ssgli account, but once you add the plan I can add the domain for you.
Though I see you’ve now added it back to lispinning.wordpress.com. If you want, I can also transfer those two domains to the @ssgli username account, and then transfer them to the correct site in that account.
Or if you add @purlingswine as an admin on the other site, I can transfer the domains to that site while still leaving them in your account.
Let me know what you’d prefer.
