domain mapping

  I’m trying to map an existing domain name. I’ve done it in the past for $13 per year. Now WordPress is telling me I have to upgrade to premium to be able to do this. Do I really have to pay $99 per year in addition to the $13 mapping fee?

  Hi there,

  Domain mapping used to be a standalone upgrade but now is included in every WordPress.com plan (Personal, Premium, and Business).
  If you only want to map a domain you can purchase the Personal plan at less than half the price of the Premium plan.

  Hi there,

  If you want to go with Personal, please make sure you first buy the plan via My Site ->Plans, and then add the domain mapping afterwards.
