Domain mapping
-
On another wordpress site I have, I recently mapped the WordPress domain to mydomain.com and it only cost me £11, however I am trying to do the same on this new wordpress site and it will not allow me to do so without upgrading to premium, which is strange as both accounts are on the free plan. Is there a reason for this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi
your old account allowed the £11 because you likely had it before WordPress changed the policy regarding domain only upgrades. Mapping is now only available with an Upgraded plan, as it tells us in:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to map a domain. Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own.
You can do this with the Personal plan, you do not need the Premium plan unless there are other features you might like.
best,
