domain mapping
-
I want to map my own domain to my website. It had been mapped once before but expired. The wordpress site tells me it will cost 11pounds but when I click on the link I am told 85 pounds will be the charge. Is this correct as I have already purchased the domain name from another company and just require the mapping.
Thanks

Howdy sloanea!
You can Map Your Domain , this document will explain you the process to Map your domain, for Mapping your Domain you need to on a Paid Plan, by default the WordPress takes you to Premium plan, you can choose any Paid PlansYou can even Map your domain with the Personal Plan too.
You can select the Plans as per your requirement and process the steps for Domain Mapping as the document above.
Hope this helps, Let us know for any further assistance..! -
To add to what @pavanraheja has said, long-time WordPress users with just domain mapping can continue to renew (as long as they don’t let it expire). New users now need to purchase an upgraded plan to benefit from domain mapping. As you have let your mapping expire then technically you now need to upgrade to a paid plan to restore it. I have added modlook to the tag box on the right for staff to look at your account and see if they can restore your £11 option or if you are too late and need to upgrade to a paid plan (which could be the Personal plan which is much cheaper than the £85 Premium plan).

Howdy :)
This is all correct. Domain Mapping was once a stand alone upgrade option. Now it is incorporated with our Plans.
The Personal Plan is the most affordable option and will allow you to map the domain. First add it from the Plans link above, and then head over to your WordPress.com dashboard and click on My Sites > Domains > Add > Map it!
These are the step-by-step instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
