Domain Mapping

  I own a domain name, but don’t have a hosting package. Do I have to buy a hosting package in order to map my domain with WordPress for $13 a year?

  All hosting here is free of charge. You need to purchase a domain mapping upgarde and then map to your existing domain form your wordpress.com blog.

  Thanks very much. I just wanted to make sure. I didn’t want to spend the $13 then end up having to spend extra on hosting as well!

  We don’t pay for gosting here at wordpress.com. You will have to renew your domain name annually with the registar your purchased it from and also renew the domain mapping upgrade annually with wordpress.com and that’s it.

  Cheers for the info, I just bought the mapping and now waiting for my domain nameservers to update, then it should be all sorted :)
