I recently renewed a domain through Google but was wanting to switch platforms to WordPress.com. I understand that I now have to use a premium account in order to use my already owned domain on a WordPress site, but is there a cheaper plan than the 99 dollar plan that would allow me to do this?

It’s my understanding you have to and upgraded plan to have domain mapping and there’s cheaper plan options that you can buy and use domain mapping with: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Still, I’am going to add the modlook tag so the staff can confirm this for you.

Hi there,
You can map your domain to your site with the Personal plan which is cheaper than the Premium plan. Once you make up your mind, please purchase the Personal plan first and navigate to https://wordpress.com/domains/add/. If you try to map your domain first, you will be led to upgrade to the Premium plan automatically.
