Domain mapping
-
Hello,
I’ve been traveling and haven’t been keeping up with my emails. I received an email that my domain mapping had expired and would cost $13 to renew. When I clicked through directly, I get an error that ‘Sorry, this user account does not own the product you are trying to renew’. When I go directly into my settings to update my domain, it forces me into a Premium $129 plan.
I’d like to renew if possible, but not if it’s going to require a $129 plan. I rarely update anymore – but have been keeping it up for my own personal purposes.
Thank you in advance.
Vivian

I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. When a domain expires, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.
If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.
Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.
If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

Thanks so much, @timethief, I appreciate it. I’m glad this posted as I was getting error messages previously that suggested it wasn’t going up.
The domains I need help with are: foodiologie.wordpress.com and rekalibrate.wordpress.com

Hi Vivian,
As your domain mapping upgrades only expired a short time ago, I’ve been able to restore them to your site on this occasion. Please renew as soon as you can from the Manage Purchases page:
https://wordpress.com/help/contact/
Both domain mapping upgrades are set to auto renew and this should go through as long as there is a valid card on your account.
Come back to me if you have any problems.

Thank you so much, @gemmacevans. I really appreciate that. I’ve updated both. Thanks again and have a great day!

Sorry to bother you again, @gemmacevans. I just noticed that my domain “rekalibrate.com” was mapped to the wrong blog property. It should have been mapped to rekalibrate.wordpress.com not the parent account vivve.wordpress.com.
Is there a way to switch those up?
Thank you so much in advance.

Sorry – my mistake. I thought it was mapping to vivve.wordpress.com, but I just realized that that’s my error. When I click through to rekalibrate.com, it shows up an empty “My Blog” page that hasn’t been set up.
I had given you the wrong wordpress domain, thinking it should have been rekalibrate.wordpress.com, but really, it should be vivve.wordpress.com. Is there a way to swap those and correct this? I’m very sorry about that.

Hi Vivan,
I had given you the wrong wordpress domain, thinking it should have been rekalibrate.wordpress.com, but really, it should be vivve.wordpress.com.
That’s no problem, I’ve moved domain mapping over to vivve.wordpress.com for you.
I hope this helps!
