domain mapping

    i’m looking to create a new website and link it to a domain name i just purchased through register.com, and there is an option for me in wordpress to purchase domain mapping at $13/year; however, when i go 2 steps into that process it wants to charge me a minimum of $4/month and up to $25/month! what happened to the $13/year?

    Hi there,

    In order to map your domain to the site hosted on WordPress.com, you need an upgraded plan. Each paid plans come with a free credit that allows you to register a domain or transfer/map your domain. Domain mapping no longer available for purchase as a standalone upgrade.

    The cheapest option to use a custom domain on WordPress.com site is the Personal Plan which is $48 per year. FYI, WordPress.com subscription plans are charged annually. There’s no monthly payment option available.
