Domain Mapping

    Hi,
    I’m going to be purchasing a domain name with the ext .nyc. I know this isn’t an option for purchase on WordPress, so I’ll be using a separate registry. I do want my page to be hosted through WP however. Does anyone know how it’s possible to link it in and what associated costs are involved?

    Hi there,

    Yes, you’re right. The .nyc TLD is not supported on WordPress.com but you can map the domain for sites hosted on WordPress.com.

    In order to map your custom domain, you need an upgraded plan. All paid plans come with a free credit that allows you to either register a new domain, map or transfer your domain.

    The cheapest plan on WordPress.com is the Personal Plan which is $48 per year. The upgraded plan will also grant you direct support via live chat and private email provided by the Happiness Engineer of WordPress.com.
