Domain Mapping

  I have 19 days remaining before I can transfer my domain to wordress from my current supplier. The mapping address that has been suggested to me has the wordpress.com extension but I don’t want that. Is this temporary until the 19 days is over or is it permanent ?

  Hi –

  That’s right. You’ll map the domain to your free .wordpress.com site address. The free site is what connects the domain to your account – only you and us (staff) can see that. When visitors come to your site they’re going to see the custom domain instead of the free site in their browser bar.
