  Not sure if we should do the domain mapping or transfer our domain? We are just wanting to build the website on here and host it ourself. What is the best option to do that?

  WordPress.com is a hosting provider specifically designed for WordPress sites. It doesn’t make any sense to build your site here if you plan on moving it to your own hosting solution.

  Your best option is to download the self-hosted WordPress.org software found here:
