How can I get domain mapping without having to upgrade to a plan of $96? I remember I paid $13 for just domain mapping.

If you have made this domain mapping purchase earlier you should be able to find that in you profiles Manage purchases. You may also have to make sure you are using the correct account (which was used earlier to make the said domain mapping purchase) to look for your domain mapping purchase history and renew the same.
I have also tagged this post for staff’s attention. Someone from the staff will reach you shortly and assist you with it.

Hey there,
As of a few year ago, you can no longer register or map a domain individually with WordPress.com. Moving forward, domain subscriptions can be purchased as a part of one of our many plans here. This domains with plans only update was made as we continue to work diligently to provide the best WordPress.com experience for both users who choose to purchase a plan as well as those who choose the free plan.
If you had a mapping subscription before this update took place, you should be able to renew the subscription without having a plan as long as you do not let the subscription expire. If you do, you must purchase a plan.
It is set up now where you have one week to renew vegan420atheist.com before it expires. You’ll still need to do a few things:
1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains
