Domain Mapping

  I already have a html site on my domain, if I map the domain with the wordpress, the domain will automatically redirect the visitors to the wordpress one? Will the existing site be erased?

  Hi @gioorge, domain mapping takes two steps: you add mapping here, then you log into your domain manager to point the domain to our servers.

  It won’t take full effect until both steps are done.

  You’re welcome to create your new site with us before mapping the domain. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

  I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:

  Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
