  My current web address is venture.com.au If I use domain mapping, will visitors see this original address or the mapped address ending .wordpress.com ?

  If you map the domain over to WordPress.com account, visitors will see whatever your primary domain is set to. Normally, that will be your custom domain venture.com.au and anyone visiting your .wordpress.com will be redirected to your custom domain.
