Domain Mapping

Okay, so I’m helping someone else with their WP site, and they have their site up and running okay, with an xyz.wordpress.com url.

However, they now want to use their own domain, which they purchased recently through a different registrar. So, I can’t transfer to WP, because it’s still within 60 days of purchase, so domain mapping is all that’s possible.

So, I did the mapping thing with WP, and sure enough typing in their own domain name (we’ll call it abc.com) maps to xyz.wordpress.com, but xyz.wordpress.com is what is shown in the address bar; I want for abc.com to be mapped so that it points to xyz.wordpress.com but that abc.com is in the address bar. Hope that makes sense.

The person I’m helping has a freebie non-premium plan, but will upgrade if necessary.

Can somebody help me out please! Thanks in advance.

You need a Personal plan or higher for the mapping to work.

    Okay, thanks for the reply.

Alright, so with any paid plan it will then display as abc.com instead of xyz.wordpress.com, yes?
