Domain Mapping

  I am thinking about purchasing a domain with GoDaddy. And I am currently on a free plan with WordPress. so for attaching the domain do I need to pay anything separately?
  I mean I just want to have the domain that’s all.
  I don’t want to upgrade to a personal or premium plan in WordPress cause I don’t have any problem with my free plan in WordPress!

  Hello!

  Doing this with a WordPress.com site requires a paid plan and a domain mapping upgrade. The domain mapping upgrade is free for the first year.

  Hi there,

  If you don’t have a domain yet, it would be much simpler to buy the domain from us directly.

  Either way you’d need a paid plan for your WordPress.com site, but if you register the domain with us it will be included for free as part of your plan for the first year.
