domain mapping

    Hi,
    Please could you help?
    We have a live website with another provider. We wish to build our new website with WordPress (ecommerce package). We do not want to transfer the domain but we will eventually want to point our domain to the new WordPress servers. Before we do that we want to design and test the new WordPress website and then point our exisiting domain to it. I can’t seem to see an obvious option that allows this – please could you advise how to do this?

    Hi Zaynan, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
