  What is domain mapping? I just got an email saying 12-20 my domain mapping expires ? Is this something extra? For is the main thing to get the website site active?

  Domain mapping is the fee paid to connect a domain you own at another registrar to your WordPress.com site. To continue using your domain on your site, you should renew this. Without this renewal, your site will revert to the .wordpress.com address.

  But the short answer is, if you prefer using the URL extrabasesclinic.com for your site, you should renew the upgrade. Especially since if you change your mind down the road, you will need to step up to a one of our site plans because Domain Mapping is no longer available as a single upgrade:
