  Can I design a website before I pay any fees for mapping my domain name? I ant to see wat it takes to get tis going before I pay anything. I was planning to use the free site building option until I get further along.

  You can create a free site using a .wordpress.com subdomain. This will allow you to use the free features of WordPress.com for as long as you want.

  Don't use your domain name when creating a free site using something such as name.wordpress.com

  You can then map or transfer your domain to WordPress.com when you are ready.

  You will need a paid plan to be able to use your domain name on WordPress.com
