Domain Mapping
-
Hi,
I am trying to map http://www.brightcareaustralia.com.au to my wordpress site.
It says this is free, but when prompted to enter the site it says $17AU payable
When I try to pay that amount it then says ‘Sorry, that plan is not compatible with this site.’The site I need help with is brightcareaustralia.wpcomstaging.com. It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack.

Hi there,
Domain mapping is free, yes, but that is as an included feature of our paid plans. It’s not possible to buy domain mapping as a separate upgrade, and that pricing you see is a bug that our developers are already aware of.
I see you used to have your WordPress.com site on our Business Plan, and you had plugins installed. When you use plugins on a Business Plan site, we make some changes to how the site works in the background, and that also affects how upgrades are connected to the site.
If you no longer want to use the Business Plan, we’ll need to first properly downgrade your site. There is a risk that content you added to the site since you first installed plugins can be lost during this process, so we’ll need your confirmation before we can proceed with that.
Once we’ve downgraded your site, you’ll be able to buy any of our plans, and use that to add the domain mapping upgrade.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes please, I confirm I would like to downgrade.
Once this has been done I will take up the cheapest plan to enable my custom domain mapping.
Thanks for your help

Okay, I’ve downgraded your site. It looks like all your existing content made it through the process as well, but please double check that nothing is missing.
If you now go to My Site ->Upgrades ->Plans you’ll be able to add the Personal Plan, and then the domain mapping upgrade to reconnect your domain.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
