Domain Mapping

  What is the significance with domain mapping? I currently do not own a domain other than the one I’m asking help with, but will soon be registering a new domain with WordPress to get a .COM URL.

  What is mapping?

  The top level domain here is wordpress.com. Your blog is on a subdomain like all free hosted WordPress.com blogs are. When you purchase a domain the mapping directs seamlessly between the subdomain URL and the domain URL.
