Domain Mapping

  I am in the process of transferring my blog to a new domain hosted by blue host. (www.tenerife-sexo.com)

  I have transferred all the theme and content but need to know how you domain mapping works.

  I would like to change some of my post URLS, if I do that will the mapping process be able to pick that up for all the posts?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you are asking about the automatic redirect from wordpress.com to self-hosted domain, then the answer is NO, the URL must remain the same, eg. blogname.wordpress.com/year/month/day/post-title/ must remain domain.com/year/month/day/post-title/

  Thanks, yes I was, thats a shame, what about other methods of redirect. Are there any other options?

  Install a redirection plugin. That way blogname.wordpress.com/OLD_URL is first directed to domain.com/OLD_URL and then automatically forwarded to domain.com/NEW_URL

  After following the steps here
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/redirecting-your-blog/
  the redirect plugin goes on the new blog.

  Thanks again Husdal,

  I have been thinking it through, I will leave all URLS the same to avoid any conflicts and then change the URLS from a plug in on the new blog.

  In the meantime, before I set up the redirect can I change all the internal links to the new blog because the import did not change them. Any problems with doing that?

  Am I right in thinking the mapping only looks at the post and page URLs from a redirection point of view?

  Hi
  I have a domain name that I have with another another host right now and I would like to bring it over to wordpress.com. I am not happy with the host and I am happy here. However, I made a mistake by naming my domain here by the same name but with .wordpress.com. How can this be fixed and bring over my domain name.

  I have no idea, but usually you can find a Support document for things that are possible, e.g. http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/
