Hi there, your domain mapping appears to be working fine at this end – I can access your WordPress.com site here:
You can set your new domain as the primary one (which visitors will see in the address bar) by selecting it under Store > Domains:
https://taylorjphoto.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
It can take a few hours up to 48 hours for domain updates to fully propagate throughout the Internet after name servers are updated.
Would you mind checking your site in a different browser than the one you normally use? Let me know if you can access your site OK from there.
If you can see it, could you please clear your Chrome browser cache?
If you can’t, please wait a few hours and let me know if you can access your site? If you can’t, we can try clearing your local PC cache. Just let me know what operating system you’re running and I’ll send you instructions.
Thanks!

Currently I have reverted the changes and have it ‘pointed’ to wordpress, because I didnt want to leave my website unavailable too long.
-
p.s. I saw your request for a refund, which you can issue yourself under Store > My Upgrades within 30 days. But I’m sure we can sort this out. :-)
-
I just turned off domain pointing and is now supposed to be hosted on wordpress. Do i need to have it set as my primary domaiN? and also will people be able to access my wordpress site through taylorjohnson.ca with domain mapping?

I just turned off domain pointing and is now supposed to be hosted on wordpress.
Just to clarify a couple of things: your site is always hosted on WordPress.com whether or not you have a domain mapping upgrade active, and whether or not your custom domain is set as the primary one.
will people be able to access my wordpress site through taylorjohnson.ca with domain mapping?
Yes, absolutely – that’s the whole point of domain mapping. :-)
Your site is accessible through either of these URLs:
Visiting either of those addresses will bring visitors to your site.

Thanks! And when people access taylorjohnson.ca, and they press a page (CONTACT), will it say taylorjohnson.ca/contact?
THanks, and how long does it take for the website to be working? -
I updated everything and right now it appears when I access taylorjphoto.wordpress.com it loops to taylorjohnson.ca and doesnt show anything? is this normal?
-
And when people access taylorjohnson.ca, and they press a page (CONTACT), will it say taylorjohnson.ca/contact
Yes!
For folks to see taylorjohnson.ca in their address bar, you will want to select taylorjohnson.ca as the primary domain under Store > Domains.
how long does it take for the website to be working?
I explained the time frame earlier, in this post:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/domain-mapping-370?replies=8#post-1371620
If http://taylorjohnson.ca doesn’t start to work within a few hours, please try all the suggestions I suggested there (different browser, clearing your cache, etc.) and let me know how it goes so we can get this sorted out. Thanks!
-
Ok I updated the primary domain and everything as you suggested. I will wait and respond to you later. THANKS SO MUCH!

In the meantime my website is down? Can I use my domain pointing from my registrar to link to a page that says under maintenance?
-
In order to map my domain do I need Hosting because all I have is my WordPress free website hosting and a domain name with net firms.

Hi there,
Can I use my domain pointing from my registrar to link to a page that says under maintenance?
No, you shouldn’t modify your name servers again.
In order to map my domain do I need Hosting because all I have is my WordPress free website hosting and a domain name with net firms.
You don’t need other hosting – your site is hosted at WordPress.com
If you wouldn’t mind answering my questions from earlier, it would be helpful:
Would you mind checking your site in a different browser than the one you normally use? Let me know if you can access your site OK from there.
If you can see it, could you please clear your Chrome browser cache?
If you can’t, please wait a few hours and let me know if you can access your site? If you can’t, we can try clearing your local PC cache. Just let me know what operating system you’re running and I’ll send you instructions.
-
p.s. your site isn’t down – it’s visible fine on my end:

You’ll need to follow the troubleshooting steps I mentioned earlier for us to get this sorted out on your machine. Thanks!
-
Ok, Thanks. I did your instructions. I tried on a different browser, no luck. Cleared cache – same error. Have any troubleshooting tips? Thanks.
-
Thanks for trying those things.
Let’s try clearing your local PC cache now.
Let me know what operating system you’re running (i.e. Vista, Windows 7, etc.) and I’ll send you instructions on how to do it.
