Domain Mapping
-
I have a blog at wordpress.feltbot.com that was redirected to the domain http://feltbot.com, which is registered and hosted at dreamhost.
I would like to self-host this blog at Dreamhost. I de-linked the wordpress blog from feltbot.com, and installed WordPress on feltbot.com in preparation for tranferring the blog contents.
When I tried to set up WordPress on feltbot.com it kept redirecting me to the wordpress.feltbot.com site, and would not let me set up feltbot.com as a separate site from wordpress.feltbot.com.
When I search for feltbot.com, I get this message..”Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.” I can only login to the wordpress.feltbot.com account, but I would like to set up wp on the new domain feltbot.com.
It seems like the two domain names are linked together somehow…how can I separate them so that I can build a separate site on the new installation of wp on the feltbot.com domain?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you say you “de-linked the wordpress blog from feltbot.com” how exactly did you do that?

If you just turned off the domain mapping that could be be issue – the name-servers are still pointing to WordPress.com – you need to change them to your new host – do that at your registrar.

In used the domains feature on my dashboard. Originally I had feltbot.com as a secondary domain that I redirected to. But I removed feltbot.com so that wordpress.feltbot.com was the primary domain.
