Domain Mapping

  Hi there!

  I had registered my domain via google long back in 2010 and the domain is from godaddy.
  I made a site on wordpress and they said domain mapping can be done with a charge of 13 dollars.
  Id like to know if i pay for this would i be paying also via google the yearly fee? or id be able to transfer using wordpress?

  You have to pay for the domain and the mapping separately. There’s no point having mapping if you have no domain to map. And WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers to manage domains, so you will need to renew it with the people you bought it from.

  hi thank you for your response :) so you suggest i pay for both? would that be good? ….

  Also, how would i delete the blog from blogger? After we have transferred all posts to wordpress and i delete blogger would it still be there? :)

  Yes, you MUST pay for both.

  If you delete teh blogger blog, it will be gone, but search engines will still have a cache of it for some time. It might get taken off search engines faster if you merely set it to private.

  Hi! okay.. so what would you suggest… is there a way to keep the blogger blog and not publish it i saw a place where i can unlink it from the domain?
  The option allows me to remove my custom domain so by doing that after i have done it on wordpress would it be okay?
