  My credit card was just charged a annual recurring $13 Domain Mapping/Registration fee, which was initiated in 2011 when I transferred to a wp.org hosting site. Do you recommend I continue purchasing the domain mapping service continuously or is this a wp.com service I might drop in the future?

  If you’d like the domain wildresiliencyblog.wordpress.com to continue to redirect to wildresiliencyblog.com, you should keep this upgrade active. This is most useful when there are links elsewhere on the internet directing users to the first URL instead of the second.

  If you’re not concerned about users accidentally landing on wildresiliencyblog.wordpress.com, then you can definitely stop renewing the Domain Mapping upgrade.
