Domain mapping

I’ve encountered a really frustrating situation with DOMAIN MAPPING and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. I had a “free” blog with WP – pixelhose.wordpress.com.
    2. I configured the look and feel, added pages and menus and paid for CSS customization.
    3. When I was somewhat happy, I tried to map it to my pixelhose.com domain.
    4. Apparently stupidly, I assumed that WP will simply take care of the details and my content would appear when someone goes to pixelhose.com. Now I am learning that it is not. Why, I have absolutely no idea but I still have to deal with this issue. Has anyone been through this process? All the material I found on WP support pages are either horribly written or end up with pay $119 to WordPress.

I would really appreciate any pointer.

    Thanks!

    Bob
