Domain Mapping

    I recently transferred a domain from WIX to Godaddy. Today I mapped the domain from Godaddy to WordPress however the url (peoplewithcooljobs.com) is leading me to a broken page that still lists wix.com as the host (see: http://www.peoplewithcooljobs.com). Is there a waiting period before hosting begins? Can you provide me with steps to fix the issue and get the domain mapped and up and running?

    Hi there,

    Even though your domain is now registered with GoDaddy, it’s still pointed to Wix instead of WordPress.com. You’ll need to change the domain’s name servers to point to these WordPress.com name servers instead:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    GoDaddy has a guide to change your domain’s name servers, or you can contact GoDaddy support for more help with that step.

    Once that is done and the change takes effect everywhere, your domain will be pointed to WordPress.com and will show your WordPress.com when you visit it. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
