Domain mapping
-
I am trying to add a domain that I own through Go daddy to my blog as the primary domain. When I went to map it it says that it’s already mapped to a wordpress blog. How is that possible when I own the .com of my domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is it possible it was mapped by someone else in the past or that you made a typo when adding it? What is the domain name you are trying to add?

heavenstreasurechest.com I just assumed since I owned the domain no one else could use it.

That’s true. What appears to have happened in this particular case was that someone else owned it in years past, and a record was stuck in our system from that older ownership. I just made an update to try to fix that problem for you. Can you please try mapping it again and let me know if you’re still having any trouble at all?

Awesome! Now that the mapping is done on the WordPress.com side, you also need to update the name servers through the domain settings at the company where you purchased the ownership of the domain name itself if your end goal is to map heavenstreasurechest.com to a WordPress.com account. If your goal instead was to setup a self-hosted WordPress blog using a web host separate from WordPress.com, then you don’t need the mapping and if that is the case then I can help you refund that. If you’re not sure and need help, let me know what questions you have!

I spoke too soon! I just checked http://heavenstreasurechest.com/ and I see it’s working already (it wasn’t when I first wrote that last comment).
It looks great!!

I have five .wordpress.com blogs. I have one .com domain (I think Go daddy) and I’d like to incorporate that domain into my blog library at WordPress. How can I just keep the .com domain and build a new site to incorporate along with my five existing blogs. This will also include considering and upgrade to premium or perhaps business at WordPress. https://rickroehm.wordpress.com/
