Domain Mapping
-
I paid to map a domain I own, but the mapped domain now reads ‘onescrambledeggdotcom’. I was hoping for it to read ‘onescrambledegg.wordpress.com’. Any ideas on how to fix? Clearly I’m a newbie. Thanks all.

Do you mean that the domain currently is active at
www.onescrambledegg.com
or
onescrambledeggdotcom.wordpress.com
What ‘service’ did you pay for exactly?

The domain is currently active at http://www.onescrambledegg.com.
I just recently purchased that domain at godaddy but am looking for a blog platform as opposed to a traditional site so I paid a $13.00 fee to map that domain.

@felicity415,
onescrambledegg.wordpress.com is already registered to someone else. When you tried to register it, WordPress.com suggested a variation. Since you’re going to be mapping a domain from GoDaddy, the domain you have on WordPress.com won’t be seen by anyone other than you. If you still don’t want onescrambledeggdotcom.wordpress.com, then add a different one here: http://wordpress.com/signup/Once that’s done, update the name servers for onescrambledegg.com at GoDaddy: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/#2-ask-your-domain-provider-to-update-your-dns-settings
