Domain 'Mapping'

  I own a domain and website that expires in a few days that I want to transfer to WordPress. The option I see is ‘Mapping’ for $13. Does this reserve the domain name as well or do I have to also pay another site to renew or transfer the domain in addition to the mapping?

  If by “transfer to WordPress”, you mean moving your site hosting to WordPress.com, then you would need to continue paying your current domain registrar (or transfer to another) because WordPress.com doesn’t accept incoming domain transfers.
