Domain mapping

  Hello – I purchased the custom domain mapping. We have blog.streamloan.io and are using your free webservice to host (blogdotstreamloandotio.wordpress.com). It was unclear to me what the final customer experience is. Should one expect that if they goto blog.streamloan.io that this address URL will continue to show in the browser when the blog comes up? Or is it simply remapped to blogdotstreamloandotio.wordpress.com when the user arrives? I know the recommendation was to create a CNAME record, in fact, I did a URL redirect first and now blog.streamloan.io points to the site – but ultimately the user still sees the longer wordpress URL. Please advise.

  Hello,
  One should expect blog.steamloan.io to continue to show in the browser. It sounds like you may have already read the support page for mapping subdomains. Based on that, I think the redirect should be removed, a CNAME record added, and the primary domain set.
