Domain mapping a subdomain

  Hey,
  Using the domain mapping upgrade, can i set my blog to a subdomain?

  for example: I own the domain http://www.example123.com and have an active site there, and i want to put my wordpress.com domain in http://www.example123.com/blog is this possible?

  No – that is subdirectory mapping. But you can do blog.example123.com, which is subdomain mapping. See the FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/

  (note that the www will get stripped out)

  But can I still use my own web site if I set the nameservers to wordpress?

  I want to keep my web site active on http://www.example123.com active (as it is today), and map my blog to blog.example123.com – is this possible?

  How do I do that?

  You are only mapping the subdomain, not the entire domain. Yes, it works. I have that exact setup.

  mikedollar – no tricks. You just have to have your nameservers set properly on the subdomain.
