Domain Mapping and no “www”

  I have mapped my domain (www.davefagg.com.au) to my wordpress blog http://davefagg.wordpress.com. That worked fine.

  But when I enter my domain name into a browser it always changes the URL so that the “www” vanishes.

  Any ideas?

  It will. The one with the w’s is essentially a subdomain of the one without. Much of the world cannot access sites that have the www. You actually own both, and WP.com automatically uses the one with the widest reach.

  Just our of interest’s sake, how can I direct WP.com to use the www?

  You cannot. WordPress.COM will not map to a “www” subdomain. From http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/ :

  Note: You cannot map only the “www” subdomain since we remove the www from all the URLs at wordpress.com.
