Domain mapping and pointing

Currently my domain http://www.dawnwaldron.com is hosted at iPage and ‘points’ to my wordpress blog dawnwaldron.wordpress.com. Twice now I have tried to set up domain mapping by setting my domain as the primary domain and changing the name servers at iPage to wordpress. This has both times resulted in a circular problem where the site doesn’t load at all when either URL is entered but instead the browser can be seen to constantly cycle between the tow and gets stuck. I tried changing the pointer settings to parked, and home directory but that didn’t work either. So I reverted to my wordpress domain name. I’m hoping you will be able to tell me what I’m doing wrong. I would like to map my domain. Thank you.

After making those changes, how long did you wait before reverting? It can take up to 72 hours for nameservers to propagate throughout the internet. During that time, there can be some weirdness like you describe.
