Domain Mapping Broke My Site
-
Hi there. I recently set up a website http://www.makingcentsofwealth.com which is hosted by GoDaddy and is a wordpress.org blog.
I got an email from wordpress asking me to do the following: As explained during the purchase process, the last step requires you to change your domain name DNS settings to use: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM Instead of: ns23.domaincontrol.COM ns24.domaincontrol.COM
I did change the settings on GoDaddy which is what wordpress asked me to do but now the website theme and everything I worked on has disappeared and it’s being redirected to a blank wordpress theme.
And I don’t know what to do since I have no way of getting in touch with an actual person at WordPress to walk me through these steps.

When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.
From the support docs: How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi @makingcentsofwealth, did you want to start hosting here with us or were you planning to keep the site with GoDaddy? Let me know; we’ll help you sort this out.

Hi @supernovia. I’d like to keep the hosting with GoDaddy. I didn’t realize I had opted to host with WordPress. Thanks!

OK @makingcentsofwealth, yeah, you’d bought WordPress.com premium and mapped your domain here, but didn’t actually point it to our servers. So we weren’t sure. I’ve refunded that for you. Since you don’t intend to host here, you can disregard that email about changing your nameservers. Cheers!

Oh, and by the way, you still have this site here with us:
