Domain Mapping — Can I Map To Part Of My Blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

I purchased the domain http://www.sixfigureexecutive.com and would like to map to only parts of the content on my blog http://www.melaleucamommy.com. Is there a way that I can do this? Right now, the domain simply points to the main page of http://www.melaleucamommy.com.

I was thinking that domain mapping would be the way to go, but if I cannot map to certain content, then perhaps I am better off with a whole separate blog for http://www.sixfigureexecutive.com, as I am trying to brand them slightly differently. I just purchased the domain map today, so I assume that I can still have support make it a separate blog?

    Thanks for any advice/support.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you saying that you don’t want some posts/pages to be seen by your visitors? If the answer is yes then you could encrypt your posts/pages with a password so that the public can’t see them.

If this is not so then you can’t map certain part of the blog only because it just doesn’t work that way.

If you are on a self-hosted blog then one could create a separate blog in a sub-folder and provide a link to this from their main website. But again the new folder needs to be password protected for certain pages or not to create them at all.

I am not sure what you are trying to do but the other option is to create a sub-domain but all this is beyond the realm of these forums.

Perhaps a moderator might know something about this.

  • No, you would basically need to register a separate blog for that and map the other domain to that separate blog.
