Domain Mapping cname 301 302
-
I have my blog diverting from blog.kothea.com to kothea.wordpress.com. the site is hosted at the latter AND the URL correctly shows up as blog.kothea.com with the name wordpress not present for users.
I presume that someone somewhere has doen a cname mapping for me (very kind).
Obviously I had to pay Mr WordPress a few credits for this and tinker with a few dashboard settings; well worth it.
so far so good.
So….:
1. google is showing duplicate listings and still some kothea.wordpress.com listings OF MY PAGES (not links to them)
2. i have removed kothea.wordpress.com from my google web admin page
3. my sitemap.xml on kothea.com has correct links.
4. i have updated and corrected any internal blog links referring to kothea.wordpress.com by changing them
5. clearly there are a few web posts in other places and things i have made with kothea.wordpress.com still showin in them in google BUT THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM.
6. settings/domains shows blog.kothea.com as the primary but kothea.wordpress.com is still there.a. will this duplicate listing just go away?
b. Has an incorrect cname redirect be done by my ISP? 301 or 302? how do i tell, someone told me mine is wrong.
c. do I need to consider anything else in this ‘migration’ not mentioned here
d. in the future I will want to migrate my blog to host a wordpress one on kothea.com. Am I doing the right incremental things now? Or am i going down the wrong route with the aforementioned longterm goal in mind?many thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Google will continue to show duplicates for a few weeks, but then they will go away. Enjoy them while they last, because Technorati counts them as links from a different blog to your new blog; it’s too dumb to realize they are the same blog.
