Domain mapping (CNAME, NS, MX?)
-
Having trouble with domain mapping. I own the domain http://www.thepsychocandy.com which I’m trying to point to http://thepsychocandy.wordpress.com.
I’m not sure of what DNS records to add, though? Tried with a CNAME, but I could only add ONE single CNAME to point at the same domain (and you’re supposed to add NS1wordpress, NS2wordpress and NS3wordpress to the domain). So which records am I supposed to add? I’m kind of green on the whole mapping situation… Also tried to add NS records, all three of them – but wordpress still says there’s a problem with my domain.
Appreciate all help I can get (cus’ the telephone line is long for my domain service stuff….).

You cannot map the www version of a domain like http://www.thepsychocandy.com to a WordPress.com blog, but you can map the root level domain thepsychocandy.com.
To do that, you need to update the Name Servers, not the CNAME record. These are the instructions in case you need to refer back to them:

Okay, thanks! Now I’ve mapped thepsychocandy.com to thepsychocandy.wordpress.com via name servers… But it doesn’t seem to work anyway? You can’t enter any of the adresses, it redirects to http://www.thepsychocandy.com and then… error. Hm.
