Domain mapping cost

    Hi,
    My husband recently mapped a domain he purchased outside of WordPress.com to his site for $11/year (free plan).
    I am trying to do the same but for some reason it is coming at $85/year with a forced upgrade (I am currently on a free plan).
    Am I doing something wrong, or has there been an insane price increase for this basic service?

    Hi there,

    I’m going to guess your husband’s account was created in 2015 or earlier. Older accounts are still able to add domains as single upgrades, but any account created from 2016 onwards can only add a domain as part of a plan.

    However, you can do this using the Personal plan as well. Go to My Site ->Plans and select the Personal Plan there. Then you can add the mapping as part of that plan.
