Domain Mapping Crisis
-
Ok, so I bought a domain – http://www.thedelve.org – and web hosting on Godaddy. Came on to WordPress and domain mapped it. Tried to install a theme from Themeforest but it would not show up in my themes. I followed the instructions but nothing. So I thought I’d delete the wordpress blog and try again. Now when I got to map the domain to, it’s telling me that it’s been deleted. I can’t cancel the domain mapping either. I don’t know what to do and I’m going insane. I just wanted to install a custom theme. I’ve been at this for 6 hours now. Please someone help.

http://thedelve.org/ is alive and well and is mapped to the blog name below
thedelve.org is set as the primary domain for thedelvedotorg.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.
However you can’t install a third party theme here – you are limited to the themes you can find at Dashboard >> Appearance >> Themes

Hi, thank you for responding. Can you please cancel the domain mapping? I’m trying to set up wordpress on my godaddy host and it keeps directing me to wordpress.com where it’s then telling me that thedelvedotorg.wordpress.com was deleted by the authors. Please.

cancel mapping at
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> Mouse over the upgrade and click on Cancel

Thanks again for getting back to me. I’ve tried that numerous times but keep getting the message
“thedelvedotorg.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.”
What should I do?

I am seeing http://thedelve.org/ point correctly to your GoDaddy WordPress site.
It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.
Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
