Domain Mapping: Custom Domain did not work

    We purchased the Domain Mapping option last week (Name server was pointed to WordPress name servers for our existing domain alrta.org.au). We waited over 72 hours and nothing.

    This did not appear to work. We could not see alrta.wordpress.com OR alrta.org.au

    In the Settings -> Domain admin page for the blog we did not get the Edit DNS option under email/DNS.
    We host email on our domain and need to add some custom DNS Settings.

    Nothing was working so we decided to CANCEL the Domain Mapping so we could get our emails working. Now I can’t see how we get our domain alrta.org.au name servers pointed back to our original domain host (Webcentral).

    HELP!!!

    NO email and no domain.

    Appreciate your quick response.

    To answer your question: No
    I did read this but found it unclear “your registrar may require us to add a Zone Record on the WordPress.com servers before your name servers can be updated.”

    I suspect this will not work now that I have cancelled the Domain Mapping.

    Hi all,

    Not sure if anything got changed at your end but it now worked when I purchased a new Domain Mapping (got the Edit DNS option).

    Added the ‘custom DNS’ settings for my mail.

    My blog now appears at our domain and emails working. What a relief!!!
