Domain Mapping dead end

  • Unknown's avatar

I have updated DNS Server info withCrazy Domains, but keep getting an error that there is already a WordPress site mapped to my domain, which I never mapped there. I used to have a site on the same domain, but then this occurred last year, and I let the domains lapse, how can I remove the fake page: katandstellablogdotcomdotau.wordpress.com and put my actual page up?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    the domain is: katandstella.com.au

  • Hi –

This domain has already been mapped to WordPress.com under a different user account. I think you’ve mistakenly set up 2 accounts. Each account requires a unique email address. I can’t tell you the credentials to get in to the other account but you can try signing in with your different email addresses at WordPress.com.

Once you are in the correct account you’ll set the custom domain to be the primary domain on the account. This way the free site, .wordpress.com version, will automatically redirect to the custom domain.

You can also use the account recovery form with your purchase details to regain access to the correct account: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
