Domain mapping/ DNS configuration

    Hello,

When i go to the site ohiohillcountry.org, which has the the url for our site for a while, I get a message that says “Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.” When I go to the domains, it says another domain, littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org, which is the url for another site I manage: domain name littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.blog. That domain is mapped to ohiohillcountry.wordpress, but should be mapped to littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.wordpress.
Both are hosted by wordpress, though both were purchased from a local company called FrogNet which has since gone out of business.

The ohiohillcountry.org website has been down for a while and I’m anxious to get it up and running, but I’m at a loss for what to do.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  • Hi @jwinnenb54, I’m glad to see you here! We tried working some issues out with these domains a while ago. Seems pretty confusing but I am sure we can sort this all out!

ohiohillcountry.org is registered at GoDaddy. It’s active and it points to our servers, but it does not have an upgrade.

littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org *does* have an upgrade, but it is on the wrong site, AND it appears to have expired at its registrar. Can you get in touch with Enom.com about renewing the domain?

And in the meantime, I think it would make the most sense for me to change the mapping upgrade on ohiohillcountry.wordpress.com from littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org to ohiohillcountry.org. Please confirm whether that’s what you’d like. Then we can work on fixing any of the other domain issues you’ve got.

Yes, please make that change! We’ll check with Enron.com
    John

  • Use http://enom.com actually – they’re a registrar.

Also: I think it would make the most sense for me to change the mapping upgrade on ohiohillcountry.wordpress.com from littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org to ohiohillcountry.org. Please confirm whether that’s what you’d like.

Yes, please make that change. littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org should be mapped to littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.blog

    Thank you!

Yes, please make that change. littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org should be mapped to littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.blog

    Thank you!

  • @jwinnenb54 sorry for the confusion.

littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org expired at the registrar, so it won’t work. You will need to work with the registrar to get that working again first.

The mapping upgrade for it has not expired though. Do you want me to repurpose that mapping upgrade, and map ohiohillcountry.org to ohiohillcountry.wordpress.com ?

Ah I understand. I’ll try to figure out how to renew littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org.

Yes, please repurpose the mapping upgrade for ohiohillcountry.org.

    Thanks!

Can I ask when we can expect the ohiohillcountry.org website to be back up? We have events coming up and that is one of our major advertising platforms. Can the issues with littlecitiesofblackdiamonds.org and .blog be resolved independent of the ohiohillcountry website once you change the mapping upgrade.

Thanks so much for your help.

  • @jwinnenb54 I’ve used the remainder of that mapping upgrade to map ohiohillcountry.org to ohioshillcountryheritagearea.wordpress.com.

I noticed you also have ohiohillcountry.wordpress.com as a separate site. Is that intentional?
