I’ve set up everything in accordance with the guides, updated the DNS records at GoDaddy, and it still doesn’t work.

Nameservers Validated!
Congratulations! The nameservers appear to be set up correctly for chucha.co.
Confirm Primary Blog Settings
You’ve set a different domain (CHUCHA.CO) as primary for mynewstatus.wordpress.com. Although you can map more than one domain to your blog, only one can be primary. To read more about setting a primary domain, please see this documentation.

Yes, and that setting is reflected now but. See here
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/Primary Blog is Set
annakainer.com is set as the primary domain for annakainer.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site. -
This isn’t the domain in question at all. I’m trying to map chucha.co to mynewstatus.wordpress.com
-
Oops, No Primary Site Set
There is no primary domain set for mynewstatus.wordpress.com. This means that although chucha.co will forward to the site, chucha.co will appear in the browser address bar. To learn more about setting a primary domain, please see our documentation. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#setting-the-primary-domain
